SPOILER ALERT - It’s pretty damn dull.

I read on in the hope that something of interest is about to happen… but it never does……..

Yes... FFC was a total slog for me. I somewhat enjoyed Brienne's storyline, but the entire time what I really wanted to know what how Jon and Daenerys were doing... A Dance with Dragons is much more satisfying.

Ah, that’s good to hear.

I would stop but having now invested so much time in them I can’t help but plough on through.

Finishing this after reading the savages. Maybe not everyone's cuppa but I sure enjoyed them both. Thanks for the recommendations!

In most cases, you don't really appreciate book 4 until after you finish book 5. Right now it's just something you have to power through to get to the epicness that is book 5... on a reread of the series, you (should) enjoy AFfC more.

Finished up Infinite Jest last weekend and had to take a 48-hour breather before starting a new novel, ha ha. Though I initially felt a little let down by the ending (which, after ~1,100 pages is likely inevitable to some degree), the more I think about it and the more theories/ideas about the conclusion I read on the internet the more I realize just how great a book it is. YEAH!

And then I started Shadow of the Wind on Tuesday ... and it’s awesome so far. :quack:

One of my absolute favorite books. Apparently, when read in it's original Russian, it's an even greater masterpiece. There's a loss in the translation I guess. Now, just to learn Russian....
