Having shelled out for postage over the past weeks on tubes that I also cut down to 29" it certainly sounds like I am using PirateShip and UPS from now on. Appreciate the info.
UPS charges an additional surcharge ($12) for irregular sized packages such as cylindrical tubes, but you're good if it's in one of those pesky rectangular boxes!
makes total sense

USPS - land of government idiots
said it before say it again - USPS needs to be made public

also slapped yesterday with surcharge :hanging:

must charge for irregular because the counter help needs special training to learn to measure

USPS would not work well privatized for the hicks in hillbilly land. As service to them would be not profitable, it would be cut. Wife's grandfather lived in a town of 200 up in the Great Smoky Mountains and they still have a post office that is open 20 hours a week. There are probably 10k+ examples of these throughout the country. Part of me wonders if Red America thinks the post office should be privatized.

Duke doesnt even realize it was UPS not USPS being discussed regarding the tube surcharge that can be bypassed by putting it into a box.

so I pay more because hillbillies need a post office ? :D

the amount of people licking a stamp to pay bills is less and less each day- there is a way, people just need to accept if you live rural then expect rural or pay up

Or we could just stop intentionally sabotaging USPS in an attempt to force privatization.

Yep. Grateful did you take your business to ups or did you still ship usps because it was less expensive just as fast (if not faster)and less likely to be damaged in transit?

yes because it's a public service,. the public lives in rural america too.

what kind of insurance do you carry? every single coverage you have is also considering every other person that has coverage when they determine your rates. you are literally paying for everyone else.

In all fairness my mail has always been top notch and when I ship tubes they've been delivered promptly so kind of a BIG blanket statement to be calling USPS workers idiots in my opinon.

1. speed makes zero difference to me- why everybody needs everything yesterday is mystifying

2. charging 15 bucks for tube or letting other operations cut into your business, private ship, as ridiculous

3. falsely selling insurance that you rarely pay is ridiculous and unacceptable but you all seem to think it's lovely

4. usps is managed by monkeys- fact ..

take responsibility for God's sake

if the masses believe in all this government handouts, then just subsidize the private industry .... agricultural model

anything ran by the gov is more expensive than it needs to be- in real cost
