I was gone for 2 weeks so the weekend's yardwork produced forty 50 gallon leaf bags. The trash people only take 10 a week so my neighbor was kind enough to let me put 10 in front of their house.
Somebody hold my beer for a sec.

We filled about 70 of those drymounters and we have no city leaf pick up so we had to fill the truck 7 times and drive out into the middle of nowhere to dump them.

I haven’t had to deal with that many leaves since I was a kid.

take a bag down in front of the council meeting and show them what 1 bag of leaves looks like when it's burning and then tell them you have 69 more if that's not a good enough example, and see if they have thoughts about getting a leaf disposal program in place

Why not mulch/compost?

Right? Then sell that shiz. Or are y’all afraid of a few billion worms maybe breaking containment and Gramps disappearing without a trace while he was napping that one Thanksgiving and we got like another yard of compost later on?
just a foil for me today, thanks

Leaves have been done here for a month. Got our first dusting of snow last night and maybe a few inches overnight tomorrow. Fires cranking in the wood stove. Ahh winter how I've missed you

My last house was on a big lot where half was woods. After year one I just ran over leaves with the riding mower and dumped it in the woods. The first year in that house the county used to suck the leaves up at the curb once in December. I made a pile across the front of the lot that was 70' long, 6' wide and 5' high. It was dense since it had been chopped up by the mower. My wife recorded the dudes that came to suck up the leaves. Everyone got out and talked for 5 minutes before unhooking the truck to empty it. When they came back it took them 2.5 hours so suck up the pile. The county no longer offers the service.

luls, that's hilarious. Yeah, my town comes through 3-4 times throughout October>November to suck up leaves that have accumulated on my road. I live on a CRAZY steep hill and the further you go up, the nicer the houses get. Something like 5 of the top 8 most expensive houses in our town are at the top of the hill, including a former state senator so they are all over it when leaves fall. We also get pre-salted and constantly plowed when the snow starts falling. Not complaining!
