I still don't understand how Bitcoin cash was created. When the 8/1 changes happened, did everyone get some free bitcoin cash on a 1:1 ( or 1:10) relationship to the BTC one owned? Any help/info/enlightenment would be gratefully appreciated. Thx all!!
It just split into two chains.applehead wrote:I still don't understand how Bitcoin cash was created. When the 8/1 changes happened, did everyone get some free bitcoin cash on a 1:1 ( or 1:10) relationship to the BTC one owned? Any help/info/enlightenment would be gratefully appreciated. Thx all!!
1 BTC = 1 BCC
It's like a software upgrade. Bitcoin was running on Windows 98 and the majority of people wanted to upgrade to the new Windows XP (Bitcoin +Segwit) operating system. Enough people decided that they would like to continue to use windows 98 (Bitcoin Cash) so they kept running it even after it was no longer supported.
Now we have two networks to choose from and anyone that had Bitcoin at the time of the split can use the coins independently.

I was pretty positive BCC was going to die quick. Looks like I'm wrong. Free money for everyone!

Ballsy with the upcoming November fork. I'm staying far far away from both while they duke it out before the new coin also comes into play.applehead wrote:Bought some last night around 3800 (16% win), and again at slightly above 3600 (22% win). I'm expecting a bouncing like this 3-4 times until it goes one direction or the other. We'll see.
The more coin you HODL the more free money you get on the fork.63schoeffling wrote:Ballsy with the upcoming November fork. True.... or you lose $1.5k a coin and it doesn't make up for it compared to what you bought in for.
I thought the SegWit fork already happened, news to me today. I thought that happened on 8/1. I guess the decision and block on which it would change was decided that day. I've been way too busy to keep up.
I know one thing from watching this for 3 years now. When you watch it grow incredibly fast and double in a week or two, theres going to be a pullback. It has happened every time. I said at 4450 to sell. I was guessing, but happened to be right. I'm chilling until the SegWit fork unless I see it approach 3600 again, I'll throw more cash at it. Time to do some reading here.
I'm personally expecting BTC to still surpass 8k by Dec and 10k by 1/2, followed by a major pullback and short opportunity, just like last year.
Good luck all. NItrogenSports.eu for ayone who wants to wager on sports/football betting. Woot!

I think we already saw the bump/doubling in price when the decision was made to implement SegWit weeks ago. I dont think we'll see prices soar because SegWit is live.
