I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air. Unregulated Crypto Assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity....

Finally opened a CDP to try it out. Keeping my ratio high but will be pretty cool to grab extra ETH for free (minus fees). I was surprised at how simple it was and the UI is pretty slick.

"Collateralized Debt Position" You lock your ETH into a smart contract and then can draw out a certain percentage in DAO. Then you can just sell the DAO and get cash or convert it into more ETH if you expect it to rise. Just pay a stability fee of 21% per year and make sure you stay collateralized over 150% or you get liquidated.

So you pay back the DAO when you want and boom, you get your ETH back. Or you convert the DAO into ETH like I did and then just wait until it rises... thus giving you extra ETH since you owe less than what it's worth.

DeFi is fascinating stuff.

Portfolio Update for anyone that cares:

ETH 50%
BTC 31%
VXV 7.5%
ELA 5.5%
IDXM 1.75%
IDEX 1.65%
DRGN 1%
KCS 0.75%
AGI 0.4%
SALT 0.3%
FXC 0.25%
BXY 0.25%

I plan on staking IDEX shortly and will consider ETH once the final specs are set it stone, but still torn on that because the penalties scare a novice staker like myself off.

Yeah, right, you sit there all bitter and twisted, I’ll sit here laughing all the way...nearly 3% overnight, baby,
Hope your mom gave you some cash to buy into gold shares when I gave the tip?

When I posted this in December you could buy BTO.TO for US$3.20 odd. Today trading at US$4.88 :D

50% in less than a year.

I'm still laughing, Fredo.

You took my advice, I take it?

Buys have been consistent through the entirety of 2019... anyone dabble with Gods Unchained? I tossed a handful of ETH into the genesis packs for investment purposes and snagged a few really valuable ones so I at least already made all my ETH back plus some if I were to sell today.
