It's like govts and banks are like oh fudge we missed the boat need to crash the market to get better prices so we can get in low.... Or The last big spike was done by a group of like 40 whales with like $ 50-100 million each. Cause it's crazy to think 400 billion dollars is Jus out of the market.
Far more likely the last spike was tens of thousands of dentists, doctors, lawyers, golf pros, poster collectors, etc buying in to the next big thing as they read about it in the journal, times, and saw it on the today show. Those folks over reacting in an already volatile market seems likely.

There is also the fact that the correction was coming, on a rolling 12 month 700 ETH and .70 ripple is still exponential growth that may not be born of fundamental analysis of those projects.

That said this much paper wealth evaporating is a bummer, conspiracy theories are fun, and if you are really investing you should not be checking prices daily after you decide you like a project and want to get behind it. I would bet the biggest impact is a lot of good projects will be holding off on ICOs and use alternative financing at least for a short while.

IRS is making moves to crack down on crypto exchanges - if you think this crash is bad, the IRS is worse

I hear that 'PBR' is a secret code word for 'Puerto Bitcoin Rico,' the hipster Promised Land.

What you need to worry about is when the FOMO folks that have been holding this whole time realize how low this can go and pull out. That is when it will really crash. When that is is the question.

Had actually debated on investing in chip makers as the increase in mining sparked computer sales. But after seeing all the regulations thought to wait.

As a group, I think blockchain stocks hold long-term potential. They will fall hard along with cryptocurrencies, but the value of blockchain equities will be determined by traditional methods of valuation (earnings, etc.) Stocks are likely to boom over the long haul, regardless of cryptocurrency performance. That said, I wouldn't buy anything long until the market settles down. As I mentioned before, I am also buying GBTC, which is equitized bitcoin, basically.

This was a good choice. Picked up a free ETH and a couple bitpennies on that one. I'll be looking at picking up another ETH soon too because sub $700 will show a nice return within a month or two. I can also short it on the bounce and pick up a hundo or two. Not a bad day. :pint:

ETH was pushing 0.15 BTC ratio at one point. I'm cash heavy right now and dont think we're done seeing the exit of people who used credit cards to buy crypto.

Honestly they're already selling what they can make. there was a bump, but todays stuff washed it mostly out.
