Seems like it might be real. Can't confirm yet?
Would def. be a set back for a lot of coins, and the market in general. Not sure how it would hurt / help ETH in the future.

It's fake news because people are saying China is banning crypto... that is not the case at all.
They want to regulate it.
They want to regulate it.

Which would be fantastic for crypto if they can figure out a good way.

Exactly my point of them wanting to regulate it. Basically if history tells me anything, when China tries to "ban" something you double down. Facebook, Uber, crypto, vpn, even some cheese!applehead wrote:They're banning Bitcoin/Etherium exchanges and ICOs, and creating their own.63schoeffling wrote:It's fake news because people are saying China is banning crypto... that is not the case at all.

BTCC Exchange is halting trading pre-emptively on 9/30.
OKCoin and Huobi are meeting with the PBOC tomorrow to discuss new regulations. I believe they will both issue statements that they will be closing until new regulations are issued.
Bitcoin is not banned. OTC trading is available and miners keep saying its not a problem (they haven't been cashing out on exchanges for years). I believe the PBOC wants to regulate the exchanges (own and profit from them).

My quote would be drymount Jamie DIamond and all the banks and all the centralized banks of every country. They are more of a fraud than anything else.chevyav53 wrote:I don't invest in crypto currencies, I have in the technology behind it but I do enjoy your insights on the currency. There doesn't need to be logic behind major dips when it comes to Ecurrency. People saw the run on Bitcoin an started investing into it and then saw scary words like "banning" and jumped ship. No matter how technical you want to get on the truth regarding the Asian markets, Ecurrency is only backed by the demand.

Just glad u I dumped everything mid aug and had nothing but cash in my gdax for an event just like this. Seemed clear 4.8-5k BTC wasn't sustainable at the way it grew. Easy dump there. More of a gamble to dump ETH at 390-ish but paid off big in the end. its all gambling in the end, knew I could cash out with gains regardless if I was lucky or not. It's taken me 2-3 years to develop the patience to wait for these dips following news like we saw this week.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if J Diamond is in big on BTC and played this to his gain. Nobody will ever know the truth there. Funniest part of his quote was you could deduce he called his daughter an idiot and would fire her if she worked for him. Douch or genius. He's one of the other.
