Wow, awesome! How is the Stagg?Irishman12 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 7:54 pmNot a bad whiskey Wednesday. Won a raffle at Total Wine so was able to purchase the George T. Stagg at retail ($140 + tax) and got the 3 Heaven Hill 6 year's (Kentucky exclusives) as well.
Have ya paid your dues, Jack? Yessir, the check is in the mail.

Will do. I've had the Heaven Hill before. Purchased a bottle locally and enjoyed it and since it's exclusive to only Kentucky, I was able to grab another 3. It's good for sure, but will let you know on the Stagg and Blue Spot. I'm honestly surprised at the proof of the Blue Spot for an Irish whiskey (117.4%).

It's good but the BiB is in my top 3 favorite bourbons. For my palate, I taste a lot of cream and sweetness in the BiB. The 6 years doesn't have the sweetness and only a little cream taste. And the 6 year is inexpensive too (I believe the MSRP on it is around $12).
Excellent info. I think we have pretty similar taste so that’s helpful info, thanks!
Also, since I know you’re into Irish, if you haven’t tried Redbreast 12 year yet, pick up a bottle. Easily the best Irish whiskey I’ve had to date.

I've been circling the drain on getting the 27 year recently based on the reviews I've seen... just haven't been able to convince myself to pull the trigger yet.

I haven't had many Irish whiskeys to tell you the truth. From the one's I've had, they're low proof (usually around 80%), which is too low for me. However, my favorite is probably Green Spot. 80 proof but tastes like green apples. Bushmills is another good one that I haven't had in years. I know the Redbreast 12 is popular now but never had anything from their lineup before.

Nice, thanks! Have you had the 15 year?
