Not even the barrel proof, I am headed back down to KY Saturday and plan on picking up some E Craig 12 yr.

I have been thoroughly enjoying Hochstadter's Slow & Low lately. When I first had it I thought the orange was too much, now I think it's about perfect.

Definitely pick up one or more of the EC 12s, especially since EC recently announced it is discontinuing them in favor of a NAS version. Also, if you see any EC Barrel Proof (about twice the price of the EC12) you may want to pick it up too since those are generally very good (assuming you like more proof). Newest batch of the Barrel Proof (138.8) is just coming out now.

Regular EC 12 is awesome--one of the best deals around for bourbon, imo.

Their vatted straight rye is a woody treat for $35.

Thanks for the heads-up.
We just got last year's 18 Year release from them, along with a handful of 23YO.
Now I know to keep an eye out for the barrel proof.
Thanks.

I have looked for Hochstadter's straight rye ever since you mentioned it before. Have never seen it around here, will keep looking though.

Les wife came home with a bottle of Caol Ila 12yr (2003) Adelphi for the birthday. Which is nice.

TPS only has the non age stated Elijah Craig, I actually passed on it because it's widely available around here and I wanted to get another Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum Private Barrel before they sold out. She bought a Willet Pot Still Reserve, think I have mentioned before she prefers the newer Small Batch to the older Single Barrel.

Tried Henry McKenna 10yr BIB, I would compare that to a slightly softer Heaven Hill BIB, and it is a HH product. Also tried Brenne, a French Single Malt Whiskey.

Hochstadter's is putting out a 8 year 100 proof version. I am eagerly waiting for it.

My latest pickup can't wait to crack it open but I have to get through a couple of other bottles first.

I've had the easier to find versions and always enjoyed them. Stumbled across this bottle in a store I don't frequent, was on the fence cause of the price tag. But the owner had a bottle in the office and let me have a pour and I instantly handed him my money lol.

Michters 10 is generally well regarded even at its price point.
