Can someone tell me when Yamazaki became this hugely sought after whisky? Really curious because 5 years ago when I sold it working for a distributor it sold but not like today it seems? But again im clueless and have been out of the game a long time.

Took time for people to find it - they probably got a great review a few years ago from Jim Murray or someone like that, and other reviewers joined in.

Last 3 bottles I bought: $50, $50 and $45 - the last one in February 2014.

I am back on the Crown Royal Regal Apple kick. The candy apple flavor could be toned down a little but I do thoroughly enjoy the immensely smooth whiskey underneath.

Fun Fact: I tried the Four Roses 2015 Limited Edition Small Batch on Saturday... And I prefer the regular ole 4R Small Batch. Also tried the Angel's Envy Finished Rye, and it was one of the best ryes I've tasted.

Went to whole foods tonight to grab sandwiches for the missus and me and grabbed two four packs of Backwoods Bastard to go with dinner. I know it's not whiskey but it's bourbon barrel aged beer, so eh, what the hell. Never head it but comes highly recommended from a friend. So we will see.

Also bought an open bottle of PHC 9 off a bourbon friend who didn't like it. Not generally an American malt fan (in fact I think most are terrible), but this one is pretty damn good. Happy to get it 75 percent full for $55.

Pa just got some of the 2015 release of Ardbeg Supernova - it's $150, in case anyone is looking for this.
It may be a very good price.

7 year old bourbon?
That's a tough choice at $110, I think.
Elijah Craig is 12 years old for around $25, Eagle Rare is 10 Years old for $30...

I have seen the Yellowstone 105 in Lexington for $105, I passed. Someone on instagram says its good but that is kind of pricey for me.
