My bad. I guess my point was that hard to find doesn't doesn't equal great, and there are plenty of awesome bourbons and ryes available on the shelves while people (including me) are jockeying for the next round of Pappy's or whatever.

I am sure most of us have heard the Pappy release this year will be roughly 50% of what it was last year. BT claims large losses to the angels share and lot's of what was left simply not living up to standards. Isn't this years release the actual 1st release of Pappy actually fully produced at BT or I am interpreting this wrong?

I know TPS is extremely upset over their allocation of BTAC, kind of alluded to the fact they may be the largest buyer of single barrels possibly from BT and yet they feel they were completely shafted with what very little they got. I am also seeing people on social media being able to score 4 bottles each of everything from this years BTAC. I think a couple of them have to work at either a distributor or store to score like that.

Still have not seen JD Barrel Proof anywhere around here, though I know it's hitting certain markets and people claim there is plenty of it.

Even though I have had this 4-5 times and just can't seem to get much from it I figured I would go ahead and give myself another round with it. First actual bottle of the regular I have purchased and I love the DO so much there just has to be more into it that maybe I am not capturing at a bar or restaurant. Odd scenario when I bought it also, the 750 was $41, overpriced by about $10 by my accounts while the 375 was $18. Only time i think I have seen a 375 actually selling for less than the 750.

Alright, so I got the Elmer T Lee today, and I must say, I'm very surprised, maybe a little let down. I drank this next to both weller 12 and weller 107 this evening, and I can say with complete certainty, that I like the weller's better. The biggest surprise to me was how much smoother the Weller 107 tasted, way less hot. Anyone have similar opinions, or know why this may be? Does anyone strongly disagree? Really curious to hear you guys chime in on this.

Reason being is the Weller's are wheated bourbons while the ETL uses rye as its secondary grain. Rye is the burn sensation you get in the back of your throat. It's all just a personal preference.

Just reserved a bottle of Lot 15 from St. George at my local shop - can't wait for it to land!

For other folks in the Bay Area, consider calling stores soon if you want one! Sounds like tiny quantities will be dropping at all of the big stores (BevMo, etc.) and small shops next week.

It will NOT be available online.
