Weird that a pizza place closed down. Every pizza place here has been more swamped than usual over the past year as long as they do take out or delivery.
I think Barry's margins were already thin due to the high rent in the Galleria area and this was the final banger. Just read an article that the new owner (the one putting on the Mystikal/Big Daddy Kane shows) has the old pans, and an old Barry's kitchen employee to advise on food. I'm not exactly getting my hopes up, but it's an interesting revelation.
Dolce Vita was more due to gentrification and corporate $ than the pandemic. The whole block's being leveled for some kind of upscale shopping thing.

Hey! Hadn't been in here for awhile. Funny coincidence... I logged in to post in here about Untitled Pizza Movie and saw your post. UPM is a 7-part documentary series now playing in The Metrograph's screening room (through 3/14) and one of its main subjects is Bellucci!
I wrote about it for Nerdlocker:

I still need to watch it, he's been getting a good bit of local press after the film dropped. Will be enjoy your review in a bit
He's doing good work, though just for me personally
Best Pizza in Brooklyn is still my favorite spot.

I’d love to try Best Pizza next time I’m in ny. Don’t think that’ll be any time soon tho.
P.S. Is the Pizza Show coming back (when that’s possible)?

I hope it comes back, I think all those food web series will be all over the place for a while. Though PS hadn't had a new installment since 2018
The other week I did a FInback trip then finished up with Best Pizza and fresh Perogies (from a polish place not too far from best)
A winning trio

For some reason, I thought the last season was 2019, not 2018. Oof.

One of the better pizza joints we've found in AZ.

Wanda: I can't stand people. I hate them. Do you hate them?
Henry: No, but I seem to feel better when they're not around.

If it needs a fork and knife it’s lasagna, not pizza. Looks good tho.
