Any Chicago northsiders have a comment on Pequods? I'm going to try it next week at the Clyborne location.

I've had many of the rest...Malnatis, Genos East, My Pi, Giordanos.... I thought Giordanos was sub par. Looking forward to having some Aurelios thin crust as well since I grew up near the OG location.

If I'm hitting chain it's Geno's East or Pizzeria Due, but you're not lying about that thin crust. I had one (I think from a place called Pete's) with just cheese and giardenera last time in town and it ruled!

The special thing about that Pequod's is the sprinkle of cheese they give the pan before they press the dough in, little bit of a burnt effect that is just awesome. I usually only get cheese or just one topping, it's just that good it doesn't need extra stuff

local farm here just partnered with a pizza place for their new creation. NJ sweet corn > all.

Ricotta and Fontina Cheese-White Pie baked, topped with Grape Tomatoes, Grilled Bi-Color Sweet Corn, Red Onion, Fresh Basil and a Lemon Vinaigrette.

Too many veges. If it hasn't mooed, oinked or clucked it is ineligible as a pizza topping for me.

Pizza for SNF, got a square pie from a place near me called Palermo.

I've had their margherita previously and it was very solid. Just a touch sauce heavy but I'd say their squares are even better

Clybourn. We rolled up at 6 PM on a Tuesday. There was a 90 minute wait. Since we were driving to Wisconsin that night, we left. I didn't know they took reservations. I was pissed all the way to Rockford.

The Wisconsin destination was the Dells, which the kids wanted to go to for the waterparks. For those that don't know, if Branson, Missouri is the trailer park version of Vegas, the Wisconsin Dells is the trailer park version of Branson. Not sure if there is a step down the trailer park ladder from the Dells, except maybe an actual trailer park with an inflatable pool in the middle.

Oof. Sounds like ya shoulda waited on the pizza. Then again, I don't think there's any pizza worth waiting 90 minutes for.

I'm in Chicago a few times a year so I will get there.

90 minutes was the wait time to be seated. Add 5 minutes to order, 45 minutes to cook the pizza, 25 minutes to eat and pay and you don't walk out the door for 3 hours. This was best case. Worst case would have been 4 hours

Whole foods has some great doughballs if you want to make your own, I've been rocking a cast iron pan with plenty of cheese on the edges for that Detroit feel

This was my experience eating at that Clybourn Pequods previously, and that was back in the pre-covid era. Pizza was good, but not worth the wait. They have another location in Morton Grove that is not far from where I live now that I plan to visit soon.
