This weekend I was able to put my new architecture sets together (Sydney skyline, Arc de Triomphe, and the new larger version of the Guggenheim), and I noticed a couple of things. First off, the new large Guggenheim is AWESOME. The printing on the exterior wall vs the usual label on the black plate edge, the scale of it, the ingenious spiral portion, all top notch
also, has anyone else noticed the instruction booklets are on a thinner paper stock? Before, they were such a PAIN to keep open halfway thru (perfect bound looks great, but it can be a PITA to fold), but now its much easier to keep open throughout the build.
anyways, figured someone here might have noticed as well. and once again, totally recommend the new Guggenheim if you are on the fence!
Also, anyone bricklink'd the Marina Bay Sands architecture set? its one I'll never shell out cash for, but figured its easy enough to piece together (minus the printed plate lol)

We took a trip to the Mall of America this past weekend as part of the kids' Christmas present. Of course, a lot of time was spent in the LEGO store. My son bought the Resistance Bomber and Defense of Crait Star Wars sets and a pick a brick bucket. And we got free Darth Vader magnets that they just had too many of according to the employee.
I bought the Old Fishing Store and the Women of NASA. So far I built the NASA set which was fun just for the mini shuttle and satellite. Only through the #1 bags of the Fishing Store but enjoying it so far.
They had Falcons in stock when we got there on Friday morning. I saw one person leave with one. I wanted to buy one so bad but my GF would have destroyed me if I did. I need to figure out a way to raise some funds so I can get one before it's impossible. The Falcon was replaced on the wall with the Slave I on Saturday so I didn't have to be tempted any longer.
