Mr. Brainwash recently put this on La Brea, very cool stuff.
I recently learned the man in the picture is Jackson Pollock, a famous artist who basically invented the 'splash' and 'splatter' form of art. I am sure this person has had a great influence on Mr. Brainwash's art, not only visually but also philosophically. In any case, Brainwash gave him great homage with this piece.

U guys should go check out the facebook page, it's really happening.

He called it the 'drip' technique, and his art has had a huge influence on 'modern' art and abstract expressionism in particular. If you ever get a chance to check out his work then it's a must; the scale of some of his paintings is pretty staggering. Certainly one of my favourite artists. Alternatively you could take my wife's view on seeing one of his paintings in person - "that's just fudge."

Here's the photo Brainwash based his print on:

Just saw "Pollock" again the other night on HBO... Ed Harris does a G O O D job with the character, but Pollock would have been VERY interesting to meet in person... Man had more than a few personal demons from what I've read and seen...

hehehe "That's just fudge" - that's how true art is measured ;)

Yea, his work leaves a strong impression. Do you know if his art is on display in the Los Angeles area? Maybe at the Getty?

Sorry can't help, I'm in England. I saw some of his work at the Tate Modern in London a few years back but I'd be amazed if you couldn't see his work somewhere in LA. I'm sure someone on here will know.

yeah It's a "9 color" but I'm really not feeling this even for the discounted price of $150. Just a Bland Image or "JABI" if you will.
