Just picked this up, excited to see it in person. Not sure if I wouldn't like it better without the house though?

I think without the house the print would lose it's sense of scale.

Just ordered this one. LOVE IT! :D

I'm with the house on this too. There would be a total absence of scale without it and it might very well risk coming across as an abstract color rendering without the house to bring it all together.

"One's perspective is wholly based on one's experience and what one knows as fact. " - Probably paraphrased from some high-brow artist's writings.... But really...I just made that deep fudge up!

Since the comparison do McCarthy has already been made on Punchgut's "Some New Town" print....McCarthy prints like "Don Stepped Outside" and "Squid and the Whale" would also lose their sense of scale without the part that we commonly recognize. Specifically, the human figure (apparantly Don) in DSO and the boat in S&W.

Let's hope Punchgut explores images like these more in the coming months. I'll keep buying, for sure!!

Might look nice next to this, if I ever get either hung :)
