I received mine free (it was a surprise!) along with the Cream poster I purchased from Post-Future in 2005. I believe it was included to make up for a PayPal checkout screw-up on Post-Future's end.

The description of this poster is inadequate to distinguish between the first and second printings, both printed in 1968. This comment is offered to assist in distinguishing between these two vintage printings and to more completely describe the 1987 third printing.

First printing - Cobalt/navy blue background with yellowish orange lettering. The Hendrix image is black with a WHITE background. There is NO print credit on the first printing.

Second printing - Cobalt/navy blue background with yellowish orange lettering. The Hendrix image is black with a SILVER background. Print credit, located in the bottom left corner, reads "© 1968 - Pinnacle. Distributed by Personality Posters, Inc., 75 Fifth Avenue, New York, New York 10011 - Printed in the U.S.A. by AdPrint". The print credit and printed signature of John Van Hammersveld in the lower right corner are printed in black.

Additionally, the third printing from 1987 has a purple background with yellowish orange lettering. The Hendrix image on this poster is black with a WHITE background. It also has a print credit in the lower left corner that reads "© 1968 Posterlnk—3rd Printing psy-sol". The print credit, as well as the printed signature of John Van Hammersveld in the lower right corner, are in the same yellowish orange color as the other lettering.

I guess I'm in a Hendrix mood today, so I'm just going to bump some topics in hope of some discussion. I can cross the Stuttgart screeprint off my list, and now I see that there is a nice-looking screenprint version of this done by Fairey with 4 metallic inks. Generally I'm not a fan of his own stuff, but this looks like a nice print. There is a process slide show on Van Hamersveld's site:

Anyone have any comments or images of this? Also, how is the quality on the 4th printing that is available, signed, on his site? I'm assuming it is a litho. How much will I regret getting this version and keeping $540 in my pocket? :)

LOL! I'm waiting for the 72x96 super size. It'll be the start of the wallpapering project I keep putting off.
