Wow what a great band! I got to see 3 of the 4 nights. New Years was sick Jackmormon's played Second Skin and two that Jerry Joseph wrote himself; Chainsaw City, and Climb to Safety. Each night they had special guests join em on stage. The first night Black Prairie opened, a melow bluegrassey string band, their lead singer/violinist was amazing, they all were. 2 or 3 of em are from the Decemberists. I had to get some Leftover Salmon Friday night, that was sick too. They covered Tangled up in Blue, and encored with a Marley tune. One of my favorite grabs was a sticker that says, "F*#k You - I'm a Mormon" (exbeans doesn't allow swear words, the whole F word is on the sticker). Thanks Sperry for the bonus Fifth Lady!

Jerry writes them all.
Minus a Dylan Everything Is Broken, and Fleetwood Mac's The Chain...
Oh and that sweet Curtis Mayfield cover!

Second Skin is a great tune. I didn't realize for a long time that it was JJ's and not JB's.

He wrote them close to 30 songs in that period.
They only chose Time Zones and 2nd Skin...
:x

The highlight for me was Goat from 12/30... incredible.

Ok, so all 3 of those were written by JJ.
I got a white pearl Mark Lanegan print from Justin Hampton that he did, the paper is so sweet it almost doesn't need anything on it to be hangable.

I know Joseph as the guy that was compared to Garcia by an old hippie I had a conversation with while waiting in live for WP in LA this past summer. He's just like Garcia except darker, moodier, maybe a little more down, but still amazing.

Does this sound like Joseph to anyone else?

Has anyone received acknowledgement &/or shipping info from Sperry yet?

Garcia sang like an angel and couldn't write.
I would say Joseph is the exact opposite.

His stage presence and delivery remind me a lot of Springsteen.
