It says 11 colors. Do the blends count as two?
Because as a trained printer they do not. A blend
is one color. Also - overlay colors are not traditionally
counted as extra colors. It's misleading.
I'm a printer and I find that there is a lot of disinformation
about the number of colors in emek's prints.

I don't think there's 11 screens used for this.
Here, let me school you since I've printed all manner
of posters for Mouse, Kelley, Grimshaw, Singer as well
as for my own prints...
The number of screens is the basis of a color count.
Blends use one screen therefore it is one color.
When two screens are used to produce a "bonus" third color
that still counts as two colors. This poster looks like 5 maybe 6
tops. Just to educate some of the buyers out there
and their expectations of the amount of work
involved. But I would have to see this in person.
I could easily take it apart technically.

kewl, thanks for the insight. It is always nice to get a perspective by an artist that uses the medium.
Do you think there could be 5 or 6 colors that are just not very evident from this picture? I know some of the emeks that I have seen in person have very minute areas of specific colors.

A lot of times the minute colors are light spray shadings of
one of the dominant colors in the poster. Just carried over and
prionted over a second color.

Okay, sorry for the techno-babble. Thought it might help to
know what you're buying. Kind of like kicking the tires.

An 11 color poster is a major undertaking. I've done it recently
on that Clapton MSG piece - and this just didn't have that "look."
