i like it too. last year when i went to the moma museum in san francisco they had a canvas like this. it was just 2 blank canvases side by side and they said the the art of it was the the line separating the 2.haha.

Reminds me a whole lot of a Rene Magritte painting, but I can't recall which one. It was a guy with a bowler hat standing in a museum looking at a blank painting on the wall, where the walls were a bright daytime sky with puffy white cloudys. I'll have to find and post it here, unless someone knows what I'm referring to and can post it.
I always defer to someone who's wearing a beater, regardless of what else he's wearing.

yes, this may be my favorite chainsawhands - though i still like merry christmas jesus alot.
Well, my memory wasn't quite accurate. Magritte, yes... but it was Christopher Peterson's interpretation of Magritte. He did a lot of sketches for what turned out to be the poster for the opening shows in Northern California for Paul McCartney's US tour in 2002. Magritte was/is one of Sir Paul's favorite artists (in fact, Magritte's painting of a green apple became the Apple records logo back in the day). So, Peterson tinkered with lots of Magritte images before settling on the fairly famous one for those opening shows. Here are a couple of his concept sketches... sure looks a lot like this image to me:

yes, so apparently a combo of the two.db23 wrote:damn dwlfennell! great find! i still like the Chainsawhands version but now slightly less.
Sweet. Nice pull, dwlfennell.
It's funny, because I always called Peterson a 21st century Rockwell, with his Americana images of cars, trucks, billboards, neon signs and such. So, it makes sense to me that Chris would do this type of mixture.
