some of sharp's second printings he just released are signed and numbered on the back but i dont think this is part of that group. this image (hendrix) is much much larger and the image is slightly differentsschmotz wrote:I thought I saw it was supposed to be signed and numbered on the back of it.
I've gotta shake my head on this one. Maybe it's a screen print or something 'better' than the original, at least technologically speaking. But I've had a couple different shots in the past few years at an original of this image for close to this price. I passed because I was scared I might be getting a reproduction. This is truly my albatross. If Sharp has had his hand in this edition, which is obviously the case, then it might be well worth the money, especially with the huge size. I remember when they did some silkscreen editions of BG-105 and a few other 60's classics by making them bigger and silkscreens, being overseen by the original artists. This could become one of those. I know I'll kick myself.
I always defer to someone who's wearing a beater, regardless of what else he's wearing.
the image attached here is the version being released July 1st and available for pre-order now from Martin Sharp. This pic is from his blog and he posted this pic March 10th. The version above posted by jamesgunter is a slightly older version I believe.
