that's the original art....amazing...I believe it was recently auctioned off, too.

got to see that at ART BASEL last year with Chuck Sperry. He called it the "holy grail of rock poster art." It was gorgeous. little dabs of white-out were visible and an entire redrawn section had been pasted in by Rick where he had misspelled "beautiful." it was an incredible piece to behold. it was for sale at the time, though at a price that seemed so high that the owner wasn't really hoping to part with it. if it was recently auctioned, id like to know what it did sell for.

This image is actually from 1968. Recently confirmed by an Elaine Mayes photo of Rick in his studio in late 1968, published in the 2005 edition of Charles Perry's "Haight-Ashbury- A History".
