I received this last night, my first Chuck Sperry print, love his work. I love the artwork, but gotta say I'm pretty disappointed with the paper it's printed on. Is this the type of paper most Sperry's are printed on? Glossy paper?
Sperry uses alot of different paper, linen paper, "glossy paper", burlap bags, watercolor paper, the list is endless, I think for this poster the paper is a good choice, that's just me. Anyways wait till the next one, I'm sure it will be on a diff stock altogether as usual.
Burn, baby, burn!!!!

Most Sperry & Firehouse posters from 2008 and prior were printed on 14-point coated stock, which is what these WSP posters are printed on.walterfredo wrote:I received this last night, my first Chuck Sperry print, love his work. Chuck's prints from the last couple of years (at least the artist editions) are done on an archival paper which is a very matte finish and a cream colored.
Nothing disappointing about the paper on these WSP posters to me. The 14-pt. coated stock makes the black inks stand up and gives dimensionality to the artwork that the archival paper cannot because it's so porous by comparison.
The glossy paper is what makes the metallic inks pop so brightly. Compare this to the English Beat and you'll see a difference.walterfredo wrote:I received this last night, my first Chuck Sperry print, love his work. thanks for all the responses folks. Like I said, my first Sperry and was a bit surprised. I've found that this type of paper makes it harder to keep the print in good condition. I do like the art!

Clear, archival sleeves that you put your prints in to protect them from damage while storing them until you frame them...walterfredo wrote:geez, what is is this mylar stuff you speak of?
