Well many of the long time phish fans are in their late 30's early 40's and guess what? We have money. For that kind of coin I would be looking for original work as well but this print and the went robot are the holy grail of phish prints so I'm not surprised at all that these pull serious cash.

These are defienitly rare, most didn't make it in any sort of reasonable condition and these prints became a desirable momento of the peak of the Phish experience. There was a LOT of cash changing hands on tour and I think some of that underground economy fueled the explosion of the value of these pieces. I'm not just talking about drug money, but the whole Trustafarian crowd as well as working stiffs who saved up for a week of tour fun on the road. Between the Dead and Phish, I saw a lot of different cities, campgrounds, motels, hotels and highway rest areas. I met 100,000 of my closest friends and only a handful of scumbags.

In addition to being extremely rare, I think most people would be surprised to see how small this poster is compared to other show prints, as I was when I first saw it in person. Not to mention, Walking Fish and Robot are the only Phish posters I am aware of that don't actually have the band's name on them. To me, there is no surprise in the value of these posters - they represent that moment in time people refer to as "organic" and truly that's what these posters represent.

sorry to post this on both the robot and walking fish, but where is there more information regarding the 2nd run of these prints. I noticed that the went robot was re-issued in 2002, and I seen a walking fish re-issued in 2003?
does anyone know how many of these RE-ISSUED prints were made? I may have to email jason and find out more details.
thanks

There was only one printing. Several AP sets were released by Pollock (signed and dated per their release dates) from 2002-2003. These include most pieces from Pollocks concert poster catalog but not all.
Does somebody have thousands of dollars I can borrow?

I'm curious how many out of the 100 that were made are decent condition?
I can see this thing fetching some serious cash in 10 - 20 years

I don't even think all 100 were printed...some thing around 75-80ish I believe.attackonthebass wrote:I'm curious how many out of the 100 that were made are decent condition?

might be 20-30 in reasonable condition, but no one knows for sure.
I can confirm that numbers 90-100 exist and were in mint condition about ten years ago. As far as what has happened to them since then, I don't know, but my best guess is that most of them are stacked in a pile right where they were at that time. I do know that #90 is framed and on a wall at this moment.electrachrome wrote:I don't even think all 100 were printed...some thing around 75-80ish I believe.attackonthebass wrote:I'm curious how many out of the 100 that were made are decent condition?

#22 was on ebay yesterday for only about 12 hours on a 3 day auction before it was pulled. Bottom edge looked torn quite a bit, and person selling had no idea what it was. Called the poster from the "reunion shows?"

did the seller have " I bought this from an estate sale so I have no clue what I'm selling"
I still don't understand how I can create a listing for a print that is obviously fake and sell it
that shouldn't be allowed
