Anyone else with a "Defaced" piece note a size difference between these and the original run? I just had mine side by side last night and the Defaced one looked to be untrimmed -- image was the same, but the white border was about 1-2" larger in each direction...

Who defaced it? the artist? Are there different versions of the defaced ones? I'm intrigued...
Jermaine, the artist, defaced/doodled them. There are 10 different ones, some of which which can be seen here:tourist504 wrote:Who defaced it? the artist? Are there different versions of the defaced ones? I'm intrigued...

And the only original way to get one was that Jermaine randomly put them in orders for folks who bought 3 (the limit) of the Built To Spill/Casualties pieces sold in 2003. I think that 9 of the 10 were given away (JR kept one I think)...

One of these just sold for $67 on eBay (S/N mint). That ought to be a crime. I'd almost buy a second one for that price and I'm broke.
Honestly, aside from the new Tool and pieces that are real JR "classics" (Neil 99, Radiohead 01, and the like), we've seen a real dropoff in demand for most of his stuff as of late. Look at how cheap you can pick up stuff like the QOTSA 03 or 05 prints. Or the Audioslave 05s. Most are little over original price at this point and some others are even below that.
I do like the Radiohead print, but really it was too big for me to frame when I owned it so I passed it along. And it's also why I don't pick another up. But I'm also suprised at how cheap that one went...

Agreeing with you here, unfortunately, on the drop in demand.Yamar wrote:Honestly, aside from the new Tool and pieces that are real JR "classics" (Neil 99, Radiohead 01, and the like), we've seen a real dropoff in demand for most of his stuff as of late. It's funny because I remember how fast the mogwai and his last two Ween/FL's went, yet most i'm seeing on ebay aren't really being touched at all.
Tools are flipping for low numbers, too. At least, lower than what the initial onsale demands were warranting. I would have thought the Ebay prices would reflect the amt of time these sold out in.
Personally, i'm glad I got most of his new stuff. I really love the illos, although I think some of the color choices seem a bit duller than I would like them to be in person. If he had used some of the firehouse ink schemes (metallics, fudge that pops out at you) I think these would flip higher, and I would probably be a bit happier.
