I think its an awesome poster too !
The packaging of fireworks and all the retro references to mid 20th century Americana are just great.

Too bad the masses were spoiled with a run of consistently great posters back in the day when not every show had a print made for it.
quality > quantity.

This is a decent gig poster.
I disagree, Pollocks alpine prints from last year were some of his best work IMO, right up there with the astron
I will concede that they where his best posters in quite a while. I would put them on par with Camden 2003.
I don't want to beat up on Jim, it's just the blind love of his work that I find annoying.

getting back to this weekends Methane poster here, it was pointed out on PhishPosters that there may be a number of song references embedded in the poster. lyrics to Light are the most obvious, but the Blat/Boom could be Wilson and the pig a reference to Guyute. First reports in from the show are that they sold some pre-show outside the gate and the poster has metallic silver in it.

I know a good poster when I see one.

and SPAC 04 is about 20x better than SPAC 10 for about the same price.

Yea ha,!!!!!
The alpine dmb ain't too bad, this: lame (decent concept, iffy execution). Too two dimensional for a poster imo (but better than I could do).

Oh, and dmb poster was 10 bucks less.

No doubt the Wood SPAC horse&jockey image is a classic, especially with the killer texturing of the swirly black b/g. I just got home from the show and snagged a Methane poster. The metallic silver pops... it puts the poster in that cliche category of "looks better in person than in a jpg". It's definitely a keeper IMHO.
I always defer to someone who's wearing a beater, regardless of what else he's wearing.
