I am very excited about this... Mike is a great guy and I think his art rules... This is his first print which was released yesterday at BLK/MRKT.

This was actually my first time purchasing a print from BLK/MRKT and they did a damn fine job on the packaging & shipping.

I can see that with the leaves / red splatters and it does have an overall kind of gestural style. I think Stilkey is most known for his book stack paintings, where he paints the bindings. Some pretty cool stuff. I will say, they really did an amazing job of capturing both the detail and overall style of the painting in the print, especially in a 4 color screenprint. Like Scandi said, this thing does NOT disappoint in person!willg wrote:The style reminds me of Ralph Steadman. Really nice in person.

Just wanted to show an example of what Mr. Decker was talking about... I just picked this one up and am really stoked about it.decker3984 wrote:I can see that with the leaves / red splatters and it does have an overall kind of gestural style. I agree. Went to an exhibition of his at the Hurley Space Gallery last weekend... Some really cool stuff:

He also did an installment for the Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery:
