are you sure its not the PP? ...and you can always send it to Eric King for grading. He only charges $20
One of the dead giveaways to me is if it has some faint smudges. I believe near the right edge of the poster to the right of the printing of Albert Kings name and another smudge just above Bill Graham's name in the lower left hand corner. They sort of look like finger smudges and are present on the bootleg PP-3. One positive sign is the description of the dots in the flames. They are supposedly very well defined on the legit 2nd printing.jamesgunter wrote:are you sure its not the PP? ...and you can always send it to Eric King for grading. He only charges $20

Yes the "Y" in the word "holy" is smudged.desch wrote:One of the dead giveaways to me is if it has some faint smudges. I was told that copies of the second printing were cut to several different sizes. I've owned two copies of the poster, one of which I sold. I didn't measure them, but noticed that one had more space to the left of "Tea Lautrec Litho" than the other.
I'd say that if it has the dot matrix printing it sounds like a 2nd to me..

There were two posters a sheet for the 2nd printing so that makes sense - they were cut down the middle so my guess is the widths will vary - probably two sets of widths depending on whether you have the one on the left or the one on the right.mfs67 wrote:I was told that copies of the second printing were cut to several different sizes. If the "Y" is clear you should be good to go - it's a pretty nasty smudge on the bootleg.musicmusic wrote:Here is a photo of it - best I can do for now.

If I'm not mistaken, the smudges on the bootleg are black in color so I think you should be good to go. But as James said earlier, you should get it appraised to be sure.goldenrose wrote:If the "Y" is clear you should be good to go - it's a pretty nasty smudge on the bootleg.musicmusic wrote:Here is a photo of it - best I can do for now.
