i think you missed the point he is trying to make. it's not that phish is a bunch of money grubbing bastards looking to screw over their fans on every turn when it comes to the actual experience, they have always been very fair when it has come to that. but when it comes to merchandising, they are total whores, and i am cool with that, because i love the band, so the more merch the bettersciguru wrote:You're funny...Can you name another Sell Out Rock and Roll Band that you you can get a front row seat to see live for less than $60? Not to mention that they let fans tape their shows...s_k_y wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if it's "limited" to 10,000.
Remember folks, it's Phi$h.inc
Why stop at 1,000 when they could sell 5k, if not more?

I would say the point of the box set is to encourage folks to buy the album rather than pirate it. Umphreys did the same thing when they released Mantis.
It would be nice if they let us know exactly how limited it is, size of the prints and the artists. Anyone call drygoods and ask any of those questions? I haven't called them in forever, but I remember them always sounding annoyed
Up for pre-order via http://drygoods.phish.com link
If I had the funds for this, I'd be all over it... dang!

any word on who the 10 artist's might be?
If I knew the art was 10 pollock's I'd pre-order it right now. But I remember seeing that there was 10 different artists for each song.

thanks for the video very sweet setup. I thought all the prints would be cd size, in which case would be very lame
awesome joy video. Think I'll pass on it. Although it does have a pollock in there, and some other cool prints of artist's I've never heard of. I can't pull the trigger and buy it from drygood's. Knowing that the minute I do that and pay for shipping, a day later it will be at best buy for $49.99 and I can walk out of the store that day with it. and have it for half the price.
Maybe I'm wrong, but unless I'm buying a ton of crap from drygoods I hate paying for shipping. Even with prints, I like to pay for something and have instant gratification. Very sweet setup, and might tempt me to BUY a phish album. I've sunk a lot of cash into these four dude's pocket's. I'll borrow the dvd from a friend and watch it once and move on. I rarely buy cd's anymore.
I'm sure a family member or the girlfriend will buy it for me, and say "look at this limited edition PHISH JOY BOX I BOUGHT YOU" in which case I'll be happy to have it, but once I rip the songs to my ipod this joy box is goin in the closet. along with the other 500 cd's in stacks and stack's of spindles .
I missed the part in the video where they showed the flesh light.

i havent seen the track listing for the dvd, do you by chance have it. The description I read said some of fenway and the roo and other first leg show'.
I hope they at least play FULL SONGS, unlike many other phish dvd's where they play 1/2 the song and fly thru 20 camera angles.

I can't think of any Phish DVDs in which only parts of songs are featured. Granted, there was a little cut/paste action on the Vegas '96 DVD...
Anyway, I am really glad that Drygoods or whomever put out this video. I had imagined that the posters were going to be folded into quarters or something. Pretty sweet little setup.
