Choe's whole style has grown up a lot, and now what he does really appeals to me. This piece might be a little too hippie for me to have thrown him $600, but so what, Hendrix wore fluffy pirate shirts and flowers and fudge, I mean, he was a damn hippie. But the style/technique/all that looks amazing. Can't wait to see more.

 Sure, Hendrix was a hippie, but he was a hippie with style.

I agree that Choe's work has grown up a lot. I wasn't really into his pre-2008 works (except for City/London Girl and Sound Eyes), but the talent was there. Because of the generous use of colors and multiple subject matters in each piece, I’ve always felt that his works are busy and without much focus. Lately, he seems to find the way to accentuate what he intends to convey in his works, even with all those colors. To me, he's more capable to coherently incorporate his emotion into his works. I think you can see this in his solo show at Pyo Gallery. That’s powerful. If he continues to perform at this level, with all his talents, the sky is the limit.

The way I've been pedaling backwards it's gonna take a lot longer than 5 years.

Or some luck with a Fairey sale and a crazy trade! ;)
