I really love this.

I'm pretty sure Daniel said (somewhere) that he'd have a bunch of the prints from the RGG show with him in SF, and if I remember correctly he said prices would be the same minus the international shipping.

Yeah he actually mentioned something about this in the "Latchkey" forum...
If you peep the redesigned tinymediaempire.com - some of the RGG prints are in there with the vague "coming soon" tag underneath.
Also, check out some of the upcoming 1988 show prints...
this kid is killing it.
personally I thought it was worth it and picked up a couple of the RGG prints(including this one) from the UK simply because I reeeeeeally wanted them and knew I wasn't assured a copy from anywhere else but there. Sure they could go on sale from his webstore or he could have some in SF or at other shows this year, but once they get released here.. they will go quickly. So I spent a bit more, but got 3 kick ass DD prints. Plus I ordered them Tuesday and they came this morning. Can't be upset with that.ill have some. my price will be in the same ballpark, but minus 15% sales tax, minus UK shipping, and a bit past that.
the price reflects the sheer amount of work more than anything. i easily spent 4 times as long working on that artwork than any other ive done. labor of love.
tack on the expenses of a foreign show in a brick'n'morter gallery a notoriously expensive city, last minute printing and international express shipping, gallery take, etc.
is it high? perhaps. is it worth it? i think so. i think you will too. will all my prints be $200 from now on? of course not.

So mikeyc1023, did you pick up the 5-color print or the Intaglio?
I am really interested to see the difference in the two. I understand the difference in the process (well as best I can) but would really love to see a side-by-side comparison of the final products. The photos at RGG are not so good.
Money is tight right now so if I can save on shipping or there is even a moderate price difference I will wait and see what I can get from his site.

I went with the regular prints rather than the Intaglio for both this one and the "house of Wyeth"(also got the "don't touch anything..." print), though I surely was tempted. I imagine the Intaglios would be very impressive in person and I would love to see one at some point, but as you said, money is a bit tight, and while I did go a bit crazy, I wasn't about to go that crazy.
All in all I have to say that after looking at the prints in person, the beauty is certainly in the details that pictures on a computer won't be able to capture. The amount of etch work done on these is pretty insane, something that would only show even more with Intaglio.
