The band (and artist) are selling a "Modern Retro Reprint Edition" limited to 100 of this poster. Kind of surprised that they've chosen to do that, does anyone have a new copy to see how it compares?

I will shortly or in however long time it takes to get it shipped to me from Guy and in my hands...I’ll update you on the differences when I compare the two. That is of course one of the reasons I did purchase the reprint/retro copy. I did however wait quite sometime to purchase as it was available and for sale both on the MMJ store site as well as Burwell’s site. I was curious of differences as well, but wanted those that might still not have even the original to have a chance of owning even this reprint edition. Figured over two years of it being available, that those that wanted it were able to purchase in that time frame! Not to mention Guy has a sale on the reprint at the moment so impulse took over for me.

Ok so this came in from Guy, it’s looks very similar to the original and possibly maybe slightly bigger but would need to compare them side by side which I have not done as of yet.

Anyways back to the differences I have noticed, as far as the print I received from Guy it was an artist edition of the retro reprint which is an edition of 25. So I am assuming My Morning Jackets site has the retro reprint edition that is labeled/marked out of 100?

It doesn’t have a full Guy Burwell signature in the bottom right as it’s labeled xoxo’18 and I believe the bottom left just has the number out of 25 and maybe an ap? I’ll have to check again when I compare the two and take some pictures for all to see.

If I had to say it looks as though this print has more of that kind of sheen/shine Guy has had on more recent prints over the last few years, as opposed to his older MMJ prints and others?! If that makes sense to those that owe this and have some of Guy posters from say the Beacon theatre show to others he has made for the band since then. Hope this was of some help until I have further to update.

was there no mention anywhere of the fact he had cancer and likely needed to pay some bills?

here's to his continued remission and daily victories; he can rebuild every plate he's ever cancelled if it means he's able to survive like a first-world citizen.

too often I'm seeing where my own, raw avarice takes too much for granted too often...huge love XOGB :notworthy:

The re-print is superior.
The ink is better. Rich, thick, shiney.
I had reluctantly traded my 1st edition for two Sperry prints to a European collector. Now worth well over 1k. I feel terrible for the man. Normally I’m on the receiving end of the reprint butt mount.
Picked up a reprint for 50 bucks. Doesn’t feel right.
One of my favorite Burwell images.
Probably second only to Gob Iron:
