i will go as far as to say that this is a fine piece of art from Mr. Fairey, regardless of where he appropriated the picture from. nice work sir. dare i say that he is back to helming the Obey Giant projects after a long vacation of crap from the first half of '08?

 Nice piece.

The sale of this one is going to be a proverbial donnybrook.

I think this is overrated. Sunsets is better.

that is a fact but Sunsets has become his best piece over the last few years. this one is pretty stunning for him, especially with the shite they've put out this year.

go back to the Duality of Humanity I thread though and let some of those brainiac's tell you how that is better than Sunsets. it's a fabulous read!

Feels like something's missing - compared to Sunsets.

I like this, I wonder if people need more of an obvious message to make it good in their mind, or need text? This is more subtle and part of the reason I like it.

I'm not saying I don't like it, I'm just saying that it appears he took the concept from Sunsets, which is better. I'd agree Shep has put out plenty of clunkers this year, but I think his election series (Progress, Vote, Rock the Vote), Duality 1 & 3, Public Enemy, and Evolve to Devolve are all either solid or have had a big impact. I don't think there's any artist who could bat better than .300 when putting out prints every week.

Hey everyone sees something different when they see art, I like sunsets, and I like this one, for different reasons. Sunsets is just a bit more spelled out for you while this one makes you think about it a bit more. Coming from Shep I can see how his fans would like Sunsets more as Sheps work usually has more of a propaganda feel, while this one seems to almost just be letting the art speak for itself and let the viewer doing the interpreting. It's a change of pace for Shep and I think it's good!

I really like this print, but I see it as one that would go on the wall only to get pulled down and switched out 2 weeks later.

Cool image either way...

I agree, but then again, how many "visible" artists put out prints every week?

Besides the sky, I feel like this print is just clip art essentially. Way too much empty space right in the middle. It's like looking into an aquarium with no fish in it. You'll stop, look around for something to see, and then move on realizing there's nothing there.

I wonder if it's a message regarding the oil fields in North Dakota....

I kind of feel like there is nothing to really focus on, sunsets had the people who were interesting to look at as well as complimentary text but this one feels like its totally missing hierarchy/focal point.
