this is probably a dumb question but why can't giclee's be rolled and tubed? why must they be shipped flat?

I've had giclees sent to me rolled with no problems.

It's the paper, usually, not the ink. A lot of giclees - you mentioned the Im Hultberg stuff, I'm assuming from g1988 - are printed on such heavy stuff that rolling them would damage them. Others, not so much. All the giclees I've owned, except the mini Hultbergs, came rolled - Horkey, Pardee, and others.

i think its more personal preference from seller. rolling is cheaper and easier, but i think flat packing is probably better for the print. i know apapertiger puts the prints in plastic bags before securing and flat packing. they also add some bonus materials in all their prints, or have with the ones ive seen.

its probably worth the extra $ or 2.
