It’s actually our fourth private Welker commission. We aren’t really a secret. We’ve donated over $225,000 to charities publicly. xo

I just don’t get having an exclusive cliquey phish poster collecting group, but I guess it’s because I’ve never been invited.

Secret meaning that it isn’t public in the sense that strangers aren’t added. It’s not a cliquey, exclusive thing — that makes it sound mean or elitist. It’s a friend group. We all know each other in real life. We hang out. We do stuff together for fun; we know each other’s families. We’ve supported one another through deaths and surgeries and personal catastrophes. We’ve helped pay for honeymoons and funerals. The group is 10 years old and small.
Why would we add people we don’t know? I wouldn’t expect you to add me to your family reunion secret group, or your fraternity brothers’ secret group just because we both like Phish, you know?
I think people compare it to the big poster groups where there are a bunch of strangers who don’t know each other and never meet — and then look at us and say we’re gatekeepers.
We are not that. We share about our struggles, we help each other out, we see a lot of music together, we collect art, and we raise a bunch of money for charities. We’re just private because it’s a protected safe space and it allows us to share without fear of screenshots and trolls. Any group of friends can do what we do.
Zero offense meant to anyone. xo
