Ha! Yeah, had too many bourbons and made an immature decision on the internet, can not promise it will not happen again, but did want to pick up after the party so to speak

I feel like these prints are the harbinger indicating i should list on ebay again
A guy I was talking to in line at the GR show pointed out this 80+ year old guy hitting the last 3 shows that he had been at.
He comes in with his family hits all the merch stands then leaves. Grabs multiple shirts and posters.
One helluva way to spend retirement.

I agree that the poster situation has gotten worse and worse over the tours. Your getting stabbed joke is getting too close to the truth anymore.
I will say the band still plays an amazing show both sonically and visually.
I need more. Nothing seems to satisfy. I don't want it. I just need it. To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive. - MJK

i think tool goes the cheapest route possible when it comes to their posters. forever adam was doing their prints, now they are using up and coming artists to the gig print world, so they get paid essentially nothing other than their allotted band signed/unsigned APs they get at the end of tours. Clearly maynard is down with more mainstream gig print artists by allowing Zoltron to curate his prints on a tour one year. so this is adam's doing, at this point, Adam sees all these subpar posters flying off the shelf in minutes, no need to hire expensive players like emek, zoltron, etc etc. send more moneyToolFanFromWayBack wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 12:48 amWonder why they don’t work with Emek anymore. 2 of the 4 cornerstones of my tool poster collection are from him.
Luls. Dats pretty funny in a thread for a poster by the most big time artist there is Tool wise.
I think it's more cuz of Adam's overwhelming love for art. Duke is a yuge collector and collects works by many (all?) of the artists he's picked for their current round(s) of posters. I just wish he gave them more time to prepare so they could all create original art instead of using recycled fudge. Also pretty sure the artists only get band signed copies, not unsigned. If they're smart, they can easily sell them for $400-500 a pop and many are remarqueing em and selling em for $700+.
If ya think it's "cheaper" to do dis than have Adam make one design and reuse it for the entire tour (which they did in 2016-17), yer cray.
Regarding Emek specifically, I don't think any of the posters he did were commissioned by the band. I believe they were commissioned by the promoter/venue.

Considering the band signed copies are selling for $300 at the venue the artists would be foolish not to ask $700+ for them. Of course, that doesn't stop people on FB from complaining about what the artists are charging, mostly because they are butthurt they can't flip them.

Tool merch madness blows away any phish merch madness I’ve witnessed, even Sacramento tool was nuttier than phish Vegas for welker/pollock (and that got out of hand too). I can only imagine line for AGrey.
