I don't think it's stupid, but I do find it dull. Perhaps dats the point tho.

Yeah, it seems like a poor choice for a fundraiser print. That's not likely to generate much buzz or excitement imo.

I think it is stupid too.

This piece would serve as maybe a good magazine cover or Sunday Post cover, but not artwork to hang. I think this is a good piece to describe how some people have just spent a bunch of time on technology or to show how people can have an awesome life (pool and dope house), but only be satisfied by technology. The print may describe some sort of struggle with humans, but there is no hope or pride displayed in the image. Therefore, being a charity/fundraiser print, this print is... lack of a better term: stupid. Yes, it is STUPID. Charity prints during a time of war should somehow show pride or hope or the human suffering or resilience. Crap, I would think this print could pay some type of homage to WWI or WWII, era's that LD seems to love so much.

Disclaimer, my views of LD might be a tad tainted by his inability to produce anything of quality as of late. In fact I don't recall the last print I purchased one of his, was it Pulp Fiction??? Wait, I take that back, I bought the Ford sub, so technically I am still buying his work years after it should have been completed. No...a more appropriate way to explain my purchases is that I am unfortunately subsidizing his unenthusiastic, generic pieces of crap.

I took it as a "stay home, stay safe" message - the phone light creating a protective face mask for the user.

I personally don't have any urge to buy it, but it's a pleasant illustration that will hopefully raise a good amount of money for charity.

the severity of the subject matter induces mixed emotions/strong reactions to the viewer - how those experiences will affect humanity longterm, I believe, is why some just want to forget and not reflect.

would it have been better if not a nice home, but a grass hut ? :D

the reality is- the world HAS changed and its frickin scary to most of us

while the artist seems to have no charisma for his fanbase- have to buy, and always reflect.

SCREENPRINT

I didn't realize until today that it's 24x36 too. That's way too big for this!
