All the usual "baaah that scene wasn't in the movie ewwww" nonsense goes unsaid when it's the Gos, amirite?Cinlabyrinth wrote:I don't think that this exact images appears anywhere in the film. Did Kurtz draw this or was this a screencap of an existing image (perhaps film scene screencap) that's been edited for screen printing a poster? No offense intended by asking...just some of the detail makes me wonder.

I think he's referring to the Fitzgerald Rogue OneCinlabyrinth wrote:huh?Diabolos80 wrote:All the usual "baaah that scene wasn't in the movie ewwww" nonsense goes unsaid when it's the Gos, amirite?Cinlabyrinth wrote:I don't think that this exact images appears anywhere in the film. "Here's a look behind the curtain on my most recent poster. First comes the drawing, then all the shapes are masked for coloring. No filters or fancy actions, just drawing and lots of hours. Colors are painted on layer by layer until the right depth is achieved."

^that's cool.
^^Cinlab that wasnt a dig at you, just an observation. Like, did Kurtz do this piece after he only saw the trailer? Or, needs moar Captain Phasma. To be clear, interpretations don't bug me at all and I think this might be my fave Drive poster)

Indeed. Wish I had that kind of talent and proves to me that I need to practice/experiment more using graphic software. I love seeing process pics and it's great to learn something new (masking shapes)...good to know. Thanks for posting.technique wrote: He has some serious illustration skills...from his facebook

Woah. I thought Drive was a good movie, but not that good...
TBH, I kinda thought the same thing. His entrance into the movie poster scene is as strong as Durieux's; both came out of nowhere and established themselves quickly after only a few strong releases.kyler4444 wrote:Kurtz, the Durieux of 2014.
Is this Kurtz's LD JAWS? Nah, probably not. Unlike JAWS, everyone saw the flip factor on this one from a mile away
