David Bowie passed January 10, 2016.
I received the following email on January 21, 2016.
Rory Kurtz completed the above illustration for Rolling Stone magazine, which published it alongside a recent feature on David Bowie’s new album, Blackstar.
After Bowie’s death, Rory decided to turn the illustration into a limited edition print, and asked us to handle the print’s production. We love Rory’s work and wouldn’t be where we are or who we are without David Bowie, so we were grateful for the opportunity to contribute.
About its production, Rory said,
Graphite and digital. And endless hours with tiny brushstrokes listening to “Life on Mars”.
