I love this piece. It's such a fitting homage to Umphrey's 10th Anniversary with Wood's new band logo that combines the U and the M to form an hourglass showing the passing of the last decade.
The bleak black and white rose, with its red bleed out of it visible only in the mirror-like reflection of the pool it lay in, is classic. Chicago NYE runs will always hold a dear place in the hearts of the band as they lost their close friend Brian Schulz to a drunken driver in 2004 after their sold-out show at the Riviera that was captured on the DVD Wrapped Around Chicago: New Year's at the Riv. The rose could be interpreted as a solemn closure on the event as in the Kelley/Mouse collaboration on Blue Rose for the closing of the Winterland Arena in San Francisco in '78.
This one will be highly sought after with only 500 posters produced. With 50 going to the band and nearly 100 matching sets sold, only about 350 will be sold individually which likely stay in many local fans hands.

Phat !!
From what I understand the ONLY way to get this (as long as it sells out, which I'm sure it will), is at the NYE run of shows.

UM NYE Poster Packages are only available to holders of tickets for 12.29, 12.30, or 12.31.07 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois. Please note you will not be able to redeem your pre-ordered UMLive or Poster package without attending a concert itself.
The price for the complete package (12.29, 12.30, and 12.31) with any matching handbills will be $110.00. All Poster Package buyers will be automatically entered into the New Years Eve Contest.
Contest details can be found here.
- The only advance option for posters is to purchase the three-night poster package. This is a very limited exclusive offer from Umphrey's McGee to their most avid poster collecting fan base. Those who choose to purchase these will receive the lowest numbers made available to the public. Also, each set will have identical matching numbers and will be accompanied by any companion handbills. There will be a preorder pick-up line at the merchandise stand for these advance purchases. Only set per person will be allowed. The system will reject multiple orders; we will not allow multiple orders to be redeemed at the concert.
- You can pick up your poster package at the merch table at anytime during the three-night run. You must pickup all three days posters at once. Please do so early to avoid long lines. A great advantage to getting them early is you will get the lowest numbers available of the presale allotment.
This print is GORGEOUS though, I will be in search of one

That one word sums up this poster so perfectly.
The level of detail in the rose is phenomenal. I am always amazed when an artist is able to reproduce something so familiar with such a realistic feel. Everyone knows exactly what a rose looks like and that makes it difficult to accurately reproduce. Of course the fact that this is also a serigraph makes it that much more impressive. The most talented artist of all time is Mother Nature and to effectively reproduce any her work is no simple task

I hate hippie bands... never actually heard the music of Umphrees McGee or Yonder Mountain... why you may ask? The stupid hippie names are too horrible to have to admit that I have seen a band named Yonder Mountain or anything with Umphrees in it!

I gave up on hippie music years ago... after much wasted tape at Moe, String Cheese, Saunders, and some other names that slipped my mind's shows, I hope to never find myself at a "jam band" show again!Grateful69Phish wrote:If your striking a band because of a name, taperman, I had more hope for you.
