These are lino cut - handmade essentially. Even if they are ever screened or anything, there are ONLY 1,000 sets done by AJ the original way - one of the smallest GD50 print runs (albeit a "set" of 1,000). But I consider it a set.

they would look great in a childs room. they look to cheesy and like liquid blue gd tshirt images for me to be crazy about them.
This. I get the quality craftsmanship, labor intensive process, etc, but at the end of the day, it just comes down to how the image strikes you.biscocrack420 wrote:they would look great in a childs room. they look too cheesy and like liquid blue gd tshirt images for me to be crazy about them.

worlds biggest touring band ever. ticket prices for the show were out of hand. prices on every merch item were out of hand the week after. Americas biggest band ever, and their last shows ever (ok not really). should we be surprised? they're starting to dip. ive seen a few sets go for < 1000, one for < 800. i called it at the show. 500 immediately after the show. 250 long term. 750/set.dmm8878 wrote:These prices are out of control. Funny to me that you feel Rich Kelly's prints are too cartoony but you dig these. These are a big old technicolor nightmare IMO.

Yeah. You know when I posted that on the phish thread I could hear my buddy in my head who hates masthay's work, and his criticism is always the cartoonish feel. But for some reason there is some kinda of fine line in my mind somewhere. I think AJs playfulness works with the Lino technique, and to my eye, his themes change with different gig posters. Kelley is always some disproportioned figure, and flames also always has similar characters floating around on houses or magical carpets rides and what have you.

Yeah, I'm with you on the Kellys. Love that guy and it's great (for him) that they keep going back to him but I'd MUCH rather see some new artists come into the fold or some artists that haven't been used in awhile like Spusta or Klausen.

I'm pretty sure the "haters" aren't waiting for prices to fall.edgar wrote:Hate to break this to you haters but the prices of the AJ's likely won't fall any time soon.
