I guessed 72, using my best educated guess of drawing each segment, and also it was the year I graduated from photography school in Boston. I got the email from Ronni that it was 73 and I was a winner, and could buy one by Monday. Here is part of the email:

"Congratulations on guessing the correct answer or very close to it :)
We had over 5000 guesses.
Description:
Artist Edition of 150 on pearl paper
signed, numbered, embossed, and doodled
$300 + shipping "

A little salty, but didn't have to think too long to pull the trigger on this rare piece of Aaarght.

Very happy for those that scored. Impressed that so many people guessed spot on or within one number.

Sad this print remains so elusive...
Missed by 1 person at gallery opening.
Missed on lottery by two numbers.

Would be extremely grateful for any help obtaining.
Would love nothing more than to display proudly forever.
Such tremendous work. How i lust for thee...

probably because he guessed 72 and the answer was 73. sarcasm lost in text probably.

congrats to those who were selected! I went with the # 50 thinking immediately it was too small, also wondered is this a real question, and does he include time to ship, time to select and acquire materials, time to draw, time to screen all layers, time to sign and number. it made me think of all the time and effort required to get to the prints to chicago/CID.

I estimated that it would take about two full work weeks (80 hours) and then rounded down to my favorite GD year, '74. ...and I won!! Woohoo!!!

Is the email address you sent from on the mailing list?

Guessing maybe those not on the mailing list got auto disqualified but who knows.

I guessed 72 and got no email and am on the mailing list.

Never wanted so bad to pay 300+ dollars for a poster.

The email did say notify winners BY Monday so maybe they haven't sent all emails out yet?

since people have posted excerpts of the email saying buy by Monday it seems very unlikely.

hard to stop thinking about how each opportunity to obtain this print in its original and artist edition form was unsuccessful.

Only print that has ever had that effect usually easy to just move on.

This one is that special to me. Very hard to enjoy from a far hungry while others are feasting but happy for those that have.

Then pony up on eBay? Not like it's THAT expensive and theres like 900 of these things out there.
