I'm a BIG fan of what Taylor did with this piece. A lot of his most recent cinema prints have been a bit too heavy (and focused) on the "bling" of metallic inks. We all like them, but when the whole print shimmers it detracts rather than accentuates (in my opinion). With The Hobbit, Taylor released a print more in line with his Gremlins, the colors are rich and bold and the line art is ridiculously detailed. The title and border are a metallic gold ink, the rest of the print does not utilize metallic inks.

My favorite Taylor cinema print since his Alice in Wonderland in early 2014.

The pieces are very nice but this poster as a whole is a hot mess. Ken Taylor has not mastered the art of "fill a shape with tons of character heads and scenes because mondoes love characters and scenes" yet. Nice try though.

+1 pm the AP. It only took 3.5 months but I finally scrounged up all the prints I missed on that dastardly Mondo drop.
