If the seller doesn't have the tickets and renege on the purchase, StubHub charges the sellers credit card and purchases similar section tickets.. even if that is at a higher premium. Seller gets screwed for listing something they never had.

Yep had this happen to me for NYE Phish a few years ago at MSG. I bought tickets on SH prior to the Onsale even bc I was out of the country. Paid like $200 a pop for lower bowl next to the stage. Guy never had the tickets to begin with. Come two weeks to show time, still no tickets and SH cheapest in the section was like 350$ at that point. I ended up with the same general seats and the seller has to pay the difference.

if seller had cancelled within 24 hours of purchase, they wouldn't have owed you anything and SH wouldn't have charged them for replacements

Yeah, probably so. No big loss though, didn't want it for myself.

All but one listed on eBay are sold. I thought it would flip but not that quickly.
