For a Heavy Metal poster, there aren't nearly enough boobs.
Woodyland is a kitten
Or B17's, carnage, nakedness, Hanover Fiste or Plutonium Nyborg!seeker1115 wrote:For a Heavy Metal poster, there aren't nearly enough boobs.

You nailed it Kilian.DWDesign wrote:This poster was made with an open mind of what Science fiction can be. Also Its not a poster for the first Heavy Metal film so no reference was made to characters from it.
Thanks! HM was really great to work with. They pretty much gave me free hands to do whatever I wanted.
Some of my favorite artists did work for that magazine back in the days so it was quite an honor. Have no idea why they wanted the Japanese title on
the variant though. French (Metal Hurlant) would have made more sense because of its origin.

Best Mondo Poster of SDCC hands down. Great work Killian. On Wednesday night I passed by the Heavy Metal booth and saw the variant, I instantly fell for it. Very well done.

French for the win! I went with the regular over the Japanese just for the love of the classic logo.DWDesign wrote:Thanks! HM was really great to work with. They pretty much gave me free hands to do whatever I wanted.

Really think this print captures the magazine so well considering all the different worlds it encompassed. Kinda feels like it is portrayed with the numerous orbs(worlds) and the ride that each took the reader on.
Thanks again, glad you all liked it! BTW, here is two of my personal favorite covers from the magazines history:

I can almost hear what's happening inside that Moebius cover. Amazing work.
