I don't think the resale value has anything to do with it IMO. There are too many good artists out there putting out great work.. then there is this.
just don't like it.. like i said if this was late 90's, early 2000's... sweet.. but it's not. the art is evolving and jim is not.
while i agree somewhat that this is not one of his best prints, i feel the hartford print is over hyped. while i like it, i can not believe what people are trying to flip it for. to be honest i loathe millward's work.
it was a great night

I wasn't crazy about this when I saw pics of it online, but I picked this up yesterday and it's pretty awesome in person. Granted, you have to like Jim's style, but I think I like this one a little more than the Hampton '09 print. This one is definitely getting framed.

very bold statement. based on the colors and composition alone.

Pretty sure art is still subjective.

I don't even get how your comment makes sense when this is selling for 3-4x what any other Phish print typically goes for. If the flip value was indicative of the quality of the print, then this would be a stunner. It's essentially the exact opposite.

I went to the Waterwheel preshow on the 30th and had a chance to talk to Pollock. He said he was informed pretty last minute that he would be doing a poster for the run, which explains why the MSG poster looks so rushed. I like the Waterwheel poster much better. Got mine personalized and doodled, which I'm excited about.

Your mileage may vary and all that but talk about mailing it in...yikes.
