There were 1,500 limited edition prints and 50 artist's proofs of the album cover art without the "Blues for Allah" banner. Printed in 1974.

This artist is great - the way he can render stone/marble is amazing, not even including the image and colors.

I have a tapestry of this image and I love it.

Garris is goooood.

Hello,
First post for me here at EB - I just joined an hour or so ago. Good to be here!

I have a version of this poster that looks like the Album Cover Edition, however, the dimension are 24" x 24", so I'm thinking that this was an in-store promotional poster for the album. Any info on this particular print?

Welcome to EB!

Is the poster on thin cardboard? If so, It might be a flat used for in-store promotion.

Does anyone have one of these prints from the 1500 run? Are they silkscreens or lithos? Are they nice?

I met Philip Garris at a recording studio in LA around 1980. It was a long time ago but I seem to remember him having a painting of this with him as well as some other art. It was really impressive and I've always remembered it.

I'm gonna guess these were lithos for a run of 1500 in 1974 ,and mostly unsigned.
