Not cynical at all. That is truth.Kramerica wrote:It's not gloating to just add it to the db but I have perceived some showboating regarding some of the commissions in the past and call me a cynic but I do think there are some members that want to inflate the value and demand for them so they can use them as trade bait. All is fair in love and war in my book but there can definitely be overlap between the crowd that wants to share art for appreciation and the crowd that wants others to be jealous of the cool fudge they have, they certainly aren't mutually exclusive.
Congrats on the print you elitists!!!
I ,personally, am happy they are adding it to the database. Even though I won't own it, at least I can still look at and appreciate the art.

Basically...no.rubberneck wrote:So basically you are just upset at not being asked in the first place?wonkabars7 wrote:I hear ya and get all this.iambillyg wrote:I understand it. There's just quite a bit of grey area surrounding the recent commissions that have been posted.wonkabars7 wrote:My initial point is closed v. open.
In the case of Pan's it wasn't created exclusively. It was made for general public. The studio canceling it makes it rare, yes, but the sales of the remaining stock was open to everyone...the theater manager didn't give them to his closest friends then post on a dorky internet forum with a bunch of sharks and vultures. Does that make sense? Maybe not...
Our commissions appear to be perceived as bad because: they're limited to 10 (15 in this case), because they were made for a private group and not a group with an open invitation, because our copies were not (and never will be) released on an open store front like BigCartel (even though others pursuing commissions aren't offering theirs like this either). It just seemed as though the initial argument was more about how people shouldn't post content that no one else has a chance to obtain.
I do think that there should be efforts or discussions about EB wide prints or commissions as I mention here earlier. And if perimeters are needed, like a certain level of EB points, join date, etc...that can be addressed. Maybe my politics are coming into play on a silly hobby forum, lul, but I think things should be accessible within the EB family. Except the red headed stepchildren of this place...you know who you are.
Don't you have other Metropolis stuff to hunt and hoard?

I mean, come on.
What an elitist.
He's probably obsessed with "cerebral" movies.
Like a jerk.

Yeah. The posters go for stupid money, but sometimes show cards, handbills, stills, etc...surface and aren't too bad, cost wise.rubberneck wrote:I actually prefer the older prints wrt Mondo, Rolling Roadshow etc...wonkabars7 wrote:Eff those, why not go for some vintage paper?rubberneck wrote:2 prints actually. I hear the original fetches a pretty penny, makes the Ansin look like a penny candy.rubberneck wrote:I actually prefer the older prints wrt Mondo, Rolling Roadshow etc...wonkabars7 wrote:Eff those, why not go for some vintage paper?rubberneck wrote:2 prints actually. Wanna help?wonkabars7 wrote:

When I'm done ranting about elite power that rules the planet under a totalitarian government that uses the media to keep people stupid, my throat gets parched. That's why I drink Orange Drink. - BH
