Uh, how can he have a shirt on under the hardware that is drilled into his skeleton?

Is it too much to ask for an Ansin that is NOT related to a movie?
He is an amazing artist, but it seems Mondo has his nuts in a vice grip.

Hmm. Variant is in one collection. None for sale by members. None listed on eBay. What happened to these things?

He's Matt Damon, he does whatever he wants :P

Ugh I need to get the variant... I'm sure I can snag the reg during the Mondo online drop, but love the colors in the variant more

We're in for a real treat if the movie ends up being half as good as the poster art.

Ansin does it again!!

totally agree... Ansin's work is truly amazing. Not only is he a phenomenally technically proficient and expressive illustrator, but the same can be said of his understanding of graphic design, of composition and layout and color. And he's taken screen printing to a whole other level with what he's doing with his texturizing and shading, and the depth and dimension that gives to his illustrations. Every time I go to D&L I always love it when they are working on a new Ansin print so I can get up close to it and try and figure out what he's doing.

And while I'm sure the movie poster thing is keeping the finances coming in, it's a shame to see such a talented artist drawing celebrities. Be great to see a solo show of screen printed work from him that has nothing to do with movies... like that Alaska triptych... would love to see more pieces from him like that.

The edition size is incorrect on the listing. The regular is 380 and the variant is 175.

What would Ansin do if he didn't do movies? More tryptichs of a vast nothing?

that's the question... what would he do... he could do anything. I would disagree that the Alaska piece is of vast nothing... it's a great piece of art/graphic design

as far as vast nothingness, our culture's worship of celebrity and movie stars seems to be a much larger chasm of vast nothingness then a snowy tundra. I think movie posters have the same amount of importance in the genre of the poster as concert posters or posters for plays... the poster was originally used as an advertisement to announce an event, like a movie or a play or a concert... it's just a drag to see all these talented artists using their creativity to draw celebrities.... it's just not very inspiring, it's like flipping through a illustrated version of Us Weekly or People.
