Agreed. It's all well and good varying your style over time, but if you're doing a series, you should stick to a style for it. That being said, I guess a lot of what makes a good artist is artistic freedom, ultimately you've gotta do what you want to do, not what others think you should be doing. Having said that, art is a business, and like any other business, you've got to factor your paying customers. Think I should stop at this point, I guess I sound like a crazy person arguing with myselfcelloman85 wrote:One could argue Ansins Looper, Iron Man 3 and Elysium all look similar. If you hung all 3 next too each other there would be no mistake that the same artist did all 3. I think if an artist tackles a series he shouldn't deviate from his style halfway through the series. Just my opinion of course.
Ansins Looper, Iron Man 3 and Elysium all look similar (arguably accounting to Martins new style), but Totoro and Princes Mononoke look the same. And while I don't think they are intended as a "set" Looper, Iron Man, and Elysium are all action/sci-fi movies while Totoro is a movie for very small children and Princess Mononoke has decapitations. The Ansins would be more fitting for a consistent theme than the Ghiblis (IMO).
Dammit, one errant click is all it took for me to miss out on this. Nothing overloads Mondo like an Olly Moss drop.

I would even say that MoS is similar to the 3 mentioned. But I would argue that these styles have to do more with artists style not genres or themes. Since Zelda and Mario by moss are similar to totoro and mononokebinky79 wrote:Ansins Looper, Iron Man 3 and Elysium all look similar (arguably accounting to Martins new style), but Totoro and Princes Mononoke look the same.
